Espanol-Spanish Career Features Introduction

Vea esta página en español

In an effort to pioneer and accelerate the career growth of Spanish-speaking hospitality and foodservice career seekers, we are introducing a number of features.  We are pleased to offer free Spanish translations of The Interview Road Map, Lesson Plans for Facilitating The Interview Road Map, Top Ten Interviewing Tips, and new material and programs (at nominal fees) to enhance both Spanish-to-English and English-to-Spanish.  The Interview Road Map contains many of the issues basic to interviewing in any industry but most importantly has been specifically tailored to hospitality and foodservice.  Features are designed for individuals, recruiters and trainers, who would like to incorporate interviewing methodology into their company’s training programs and workshops.

Here’s what one leading human resource senior vice president has to say about linking to the English version of The Interview Road and how he feels his company benefits:

“The benefit to Johnny Carino’s Italian is that our candidates are better prepared for the interview process with our recruiting team.  We’re able to spend higher quality time with each candidate since they know what to expect during the interview process and are prepared to answer our questions.  It’s a win-win situation!”  Rodney Morris, SVP, Human Resources Fired Up, Inc. Johnny Carino's Italian.   Each week, more than 175 Carino’s candidates link over to prepare for interviews.

Encouraging Hispanics to learn English is vital to future success, but until fluency is achieved, offering interviewing advice in the native language can help Hispanics more quickly prepare for job interviews.  Ultimately, it is best to speak English in the majority of our workforce environments, but imagine how you would feel if you spoke perhaps only the most basic Spanish and you were getting ready to interview for a position in Mexico City?  Wouldn’t you want to know how interviews work there and perhaps what questions the interviewer might ask?  Now, the same great tips we have been providing in English are available in Spanish (thanks to translation by Isaac Botbol).

In addition we are also linking to key career-enhancing features on www.ibcommunicationskills.com.  Here are specific topics for hospitality and foodservice companies to consider incorporating into training programs:

  • English for the Hospitality Industry

  • Workplace Spanish

  • Sexual Harassment

  • Supervisor Skills

Our mission with respect to all users who visit www.RestaurantU.com is to encourage taking ownership for career advancement.  We believe Hispanics are destined to become not merely line workers but also successful managers and owners.  By providing educational information, we hope to speed their advancement and enable them to become more successful and increase their earning power by targeting professional positions in the industry.
