Peter's Poems

Sonnet to Mankind: Today I Weep; Tomorrow I Die

By Peter Langlois

Today I weep for the innocents and their families.

I weep as terrorists display their pagan ways.

Christ and Mohamed weep as well,

Tortured by those who follow crooked paths.

I weep for Gandhi, Martin, John, Bobby,

For all who have given their lives in love of fellow man.

Tomorrow I die in some moment in time,

What will my legacy be?

Will I die a tortured man, a friend to all?

Will tears scar my eyes in the agony of death?

Can we not respect and love one another?

Today I weep; tomorrow I die.
