Interview Road Map
Introduction

While I would never maintain that cover letters and resumes
are not key elements in pursuit of career opportunities,
there is no doubt that it is the Job Interview that determines
whether or not you move forward in the process. A great cover
letter and resume open the door, but a bad interview slams it
shut! You can learn to interview like a pro and receive job
offers from best-in-class hospitality companies.
The Interview Road Map has helped thousands land the job
they desired since it was written some six years ago. Even headhunters
send their candidates here to prepare for job interviews. The Interview
Road Map is a detailed primer on the key elements to successful
interviewing, and provides a step-by-step plan. When it comes to
interviewing, we think Ben Franklin had it right: "Plan your work, work
your plan!" Find out how to successfully market yourself by following our
Interview Road Map, including developing a topical interview style that
enables you to take over the interview and sell yourself!
We have developed suggested Lesson Plans for trainers and
teachers, who would like to incorporate the various aspects of the
Interview Road Map into their interview training regimen. As an instructor
in Career Development, I always customize my class plans to fit the needs
and personalities of the students I teach. Our Lesson Plans are intended
to be either stand alones that can be utilized as is, or guidelines which
instructors and facilitators may edit to fit their teaching styles and/or
the needs of their audience.
Our Top Ten Interviewing Tips are our version of crib
sheets or "Cliff Notes," a quick review that we suggest every candidate
scan the day of the interview. We believe these are the most frequent
areas that candidates will be asked to address during the typical
interviews.
Above all, The Interview Road Map is intended to enhance
your chances and give you the edge over other candidates who are competing
for the same job. We wish you continued success as you move along your
desired career path, one interview at a time.
