Our undergraduate B.S. degree is considered the world’s premiere program for eventual careers as senior corporate executives and entrepreneurs. 800 students are enrolled as undergraduates, about 30% of these students transferred into the Hotel School from other colleges.

The Master’s of Management in Hospitality (MMH) has an enrollment of 115. This program is accredited as an MBA and provides college graduates now working in a mid-level position the opportunity to return for an MBA in hospitality management and develop the skills and perspective to aspire to senior leadership roles in large professional corporations or to create their own companies.

The hospitality industry’s top management executive education program is offered at Cornell. Each year 1800 executives and mid-level managers attend our executive education programs designed to enhance their professional development. Several courses are also now offered online.


The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) is the premier provider of culinary education for undergraduate students and foodservice and hospitality professionals. Our mission is to provide the world’s best professional culinary education.

For undergraduates, the college offers two degree programs – the Bachelor of Professional Studies (B.P.S., 38 months), and the Associate in Occupational Studies (A.O.S., 21 months). Each program offers majors in the culinary arts and the baking & pastry arts, and each emphasizes professional, progressive, hands-on learning in the college’s kitchens, bakeshops, and restaurants. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management was established to meet the demand for professional education in the increasingly complex hospitality industry.  Hotel and restaurant management requires a diversity of skills from many disciplines, including accounting, computer science, economics, law, mathematics, and psychology. For this reason, the college emphasizes broad information skills, flexibility in abstract problem solving, and in-depth studies of specific disciplines. Faculty members are selected from appropriate academic disciplines and from the professional community on the basis of their knowledge, teaching skills, and practical experience.

The Hilton University of Houston Hotel & Conference Center is an 86-room, on-campus hotel that accommodates university guests, parents and friends. The hotel is equipped with foodservice production and service areas, two full-service restaurants, three large banquet rooms, an industry archive and library, and laboratories for facilities management, management information systems, quantity food service preparation, hotel operations, and product evaluation and testing.

The Conrad N. Hilton College offers the following degree programs: Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management,  Master of Hospitality Management (M.H.M. Degree), and an Online Masters Program.

Continuing Education and Graduate Studies at Johnson & Wales University, Providence, RI.  Johnson & Wales University offers several undergraduate continuing education programs in The Hospitality College. The programs prepare students for successful careers in a number of well-paying fields. Students also gain on-the-job experience as part of their education, as you'll find our hospitality students working at our University-owned hotels and restaurants, or at leading area employers.

Several exciting majors are offered in Continuing Education. Our undergraduate hospitality college offers AS and BS degrees such as: food & beverage management, restaurant management, hotel management, travel-tourism management, and hospitality management. Students may attend classes just one, two or three nights a week for 11-week sessions. The Alan Shawn Feinstein Graduate School offers a M.B.A. in Hospitality Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Financial Management. Future concentrations for September 2003 may include Event Leadership and Travel Tourism.

Capitalizing on its worldwide reputation in hospitality and tourism education, the M.B.A. program in Hospitality Administration prepares students who, through prior training or experience, have developed an expertise in serving the needs of travelers and the service industry. This degree program prepares hospitality managers for upward mobility in their industry towards general manager positions and further towards corporate office responsibilities. Students may complete the Hospitality Administration program in either a traditional or fast-track 12-month format. Admittance to the fast-track programs is in the September term only.

The mission of The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University is to be the leader in hospitality business education through teaching, research, and service. The School of Hospitality Business at MSU is actively involved in delivering Executive Development Programs at the Executive Development Center on campus. Program participants include executives from the National Automatic Merchandising Association, U.S. Air Force, and the Club Managers Association of America. The School just launched a Management of Lodging Systems eLearning program in partnership with the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals.

You can take courses without relocating or leaving your job.

The HR&IM menu of programs offers four "step-up" doorways that allow you to focus your objectives. Each doorway helps you to organize your educational activities into a customized professional development portfolio. The doorways are aligned by sector within the hospitality industry:

  • institutional

  • career exploration (This is a special doorway for individuals, such as high school students, who want to explore the hospitality industry as a potential career.)

You can enter through any doorway, start at any step, and take as many courses or steps as you need to meet your personal or professional goals.

Step Two: Hospitality Management Certificate
Step Three: Associate degree in hotel, restaurant, and institutional management

Step Four: Penn State students who complete the associate degree in hotel, restaurant, and institutional management are eligible for admission to the University of Delaware’s bachelor of science degree completion program in hotel, restaurant, and institutional management. Students admitted to the degree completion program transfer their credits to, and earn the bachelor’s degree from, the University of Delaware, but remain affiliate students able to use Penn State resources such as computer access and library services.
