1. www.RestaurantU.com: Tools of the Trade for Business, for School, for Free! is free to industry managers and employees, hospitality students, educators and career counselors focused upon hospitality careers. More than 200 schools currently participate. Leading Human Resource “Best Practices” consortium, People Report, for example, recently reported at its annual conference (Oct. 2003) that the retention rate of candidates sourced from colleges and universities averages 2.8 years. Students are focused on careers, not jobs. Are you interested in people who want to stay with your company?

2. Our mission is to enhance personal career opportunities, and we do so by to educating prospects about job search, interviewing, using technology such as Excel Spreadsheets to improve current performance, and much more. We reach out to those who are currently in the field, as well as to aspiring students at colleges and universities. You benefit by raising your recruiting profile and contributing to the development of more savvy prospects.

3. We launch your logo and activate a hot-link directed at a URL you specify. Your logo will be displayed with our other member companies, and your company will be noted as one supporting all of the services on the site. Prospects build competence by researching our member sites, and they will target your company for job searches.

4. Companies control their own destinies. Communication between member companies and prospective candidates may be done electronically. RestaurantU.com is merely a conduit. When a prospect clicks through to your web site, you determine how you respond. When you hire someone who has initiated contact, there are no additional fees.

5. We’re “connected.” Our site developer, Peter Langlois, is co-editor of Weekly Restaurant Connections, the leading Internet foodservice newsletter read by Insiders at major chains and culinary school and HRIM educators and counselors around the country. Each issue includes an ad for www.RestaurantU.com. Peter teaches numerous hospitality management classes and “soft skills” at The Art Institute of Houston-Culinary, including job search, and speaks to high school counselors and educators to promote hospitality careers, thus attracting more users to www.RestaurantU.com. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the Business 101 Incubator built by Outback Steakhouse at Westside High School, Houston, Texas. We also partner with many leading hospitality organizations and associations.

6. Our Fees are reasonable. Membership for large companies (annual sales in excess of $200 million): $2,500; medium ($100-199 million): $1,500; less than $100 million: $1,000. Where else can you gain access to thousands of industry prospects students interested in hospitality careers without leaving your office? For less than the cost of visiting one school and attending a hit-and-miss career fair, for example, you can use technology to expand your recruiting efforts at more than 200 schools. For an additional fee of $1,000 annually, your logo will be displayed/rotated at the top of our welcome page 24/7, increasing your profile and reinforcing your image with potential candidates.

7. You’ll be giving forward. Starting July 15, 2004 Ten Percent of all membership fees will be donated to the NRAEF Scholarship Initiatives, including Pro-Start.
