Benefits Hospitality Companies Receive by Joining
www.RestaurantU.com: Tools of the Trade for Business, for School, for
Free!
1.
www.RestaurantU.com: Tools of the Trade for Business,
for School, for Free! is free to industry managers and employees,
hospitality students, educators and career counselors focused upon
hospitality careers. More than 200 schools currently participate. Leading
Human Resource “Best Practices” consortium, People Report, for example,
recently reported at its annual conference (Oct. 2003) that the retention
rate of candidates sourced from colleges and universities averages 2.8
years. Students are focused on careers, not jobs. Are you interested in
people who want to stay with your company?
2. Our mission is to enhance personal career
opportunities, and we do so by to educating prospects about job search,
interviewing, using technology such as Excel Spreadsheets to improve
current performance, and much more. We reach out to those who are
currently in the field, as well as to aspiring students at colleges and
universities. You benefit by raising your recruiting profile and
contributing to the development of more savvy prospects.
3. We launch your logo and activate a hot-link
directed at a URL you specify. Your logo will be displayed with our
other member companies, and your company will be noted as one supporting
all of the services on the site. Prospects build competence by
researching our member sites, and they will target your company for job
searches.
4. Companies control their own destinies.
Communication between member companies and prospective candidates may be
done electronically. RestaurantU.com is merely a conduit.
When a prospect clicks through to your web site, you determine how you
respond. When you hire someone who has initiated contact, there are no
additional fees.
5. We’re “connected.” Our site developer, Peter
Langlois, is co-editor of
Weekly Restaurant
Connections, the leading Internet foodservice newsletter read
by Insiders at major chains and culinary school and HRIM educators and
counselors around the country. Each issue includes an ad for
www.RestaurantU.com. Peter
teaches numerous hospitality management classes and “soft skills” at The
Art Institute of Houston-Culinary, including job search, and speaks to
high school counselors and educators to promote hospitality careers, thus
attracting more users to
www.RestaurantU.com. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the
Business 101 Incubator built by Outback Steakhouse at Westside High
School, Houston, Texas. We also partner with many leading hospitality
organizations and associations.
6. Our Fees are reasonable. Membership for large
companies (annual sales in excess of $200 million): $2,500; medium
($100-199 million): $1,500; less than $100 million: $1,000. Where else can
you gain access to thousands of industry prospects students interested in
hospitality careers without leaving your office? For less than the cost of
visiting one school and attending a hit-and-miss career fair, for example,
you can use technology to expand your recruiting efforts at more than 200
schools. For an additional fee of $1,000 annually, your logo will be
displayed/rotated at the top of our welcome page 24/7, increasing your
profile and reinforcing your image with potential candidates.
7. You’ll be giving forward. Starting July 15, 2004 Ten
Percent of all membership fees will be donated to the NRAEF Scholarship
Initiatives, including Pro-Start.
